Health Insurance policies today have in fact become Greek to a number of different consumers on the health and medical insurance market today. There are so many different types of plans ranging from the simplest to the most complex it is almost as if you need some degree from a major university to sort it all our. Health Insurance policies when designed right can help an insurance consumer if and when they need it. One thing we find is that health insurance customers now days don't always know what type of plan they have and that's not always a good thing because their health insurance needs may very well vary between yours and mine. One important thing to keep in mind with medical insurance is the many different types of health plans. One you may find on the market that is usually far more affordable than some is a Scheduled Health Insurance policy. The keyword here is "Scheduled". Scheduled health insurance plans typically have "caps" or "limits" on what it will pay for certain services today. Depending on what you are wanting in a health plan this could be good or bad. A lot of people do not like these types of health insurance programs because if a loved one on your plan had a heart attack for example the scheduled pay for a hospital stay may only be $250 a day. Well, then what about open heart surgery? The health insurance policy may only allow ten or fifteen thousand for this. You may want to check with your local hospital facilities but I can assure you it's a lot more than $250 a day for the room and this type of surgery could cost fifty to one hundred thousand dollars. These health insurance numbers are not in stone and you would want to be sure to check with your own facility and doctor and don't take this as insurance or medical advice but we say this to help you. Be absolutely certain you check this out thoroughly and make sure this is the right type of policy or program for you. Other types of health insurance policy we will discuss in other articles are Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO), Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO), and Traditional Indemnity Plans which are sometimes referred to as an "All Provider Plan".
